My life purpose is to encourage, empower, and equip the sleepwalking children of God to break free of strongholds and pursue their dreams. Let me explain what all those words mean to me and why this is the purpose statement that centers everything I do.

- Encourage: inspire believers to identify their purpose and encourage them to pursue it.
- Empower: provide training that empowers believers with the confidence and direction to take action.
- Equip: supply tools, resources, and funding that equips believers to progress in their purpose.
- Sleepwalking: sound the alarm to wake up God’s sleeping children to live lives of purpose. This generation, more than any generation before, has been lulled to sleep by a world of distractions.
- Children of God: recognize my calling is first-and-foremost to believers. Salvation is not enough; we are called to live for Christ. What comes after salvation is where my gifts, talents, and passions most align.
- Break Free of Strongholds: Unhealed hurts, unhealthy habits, and unaddressed hangups leave us vulnerable to the Enemy and limit our ability to live with purpose.
- Pursue their Dreams: God created every person with purpose. We are all born with dreams, but the world and life will often bury them. My purpose is to help believers get out a shovel to dig those dreams up, clean them off, and then get to work making them reality.
Sometimes my purpose plays out in a conversation one on one. Other times, it is speaking at an event or writing a book. Each season looks different, but my underlying purpose remains consistent. Micro or macro, these are the principles that guide me to live life on purpose.
This passion for encouraging, empowering, and equipping resonates throughout my life, even though this clearly defined purpose wasn’t articulated until my late 20’s. Various adults encouraged this ambition by giving me chances to use my talents with supervision in safe environments. I fondly remember teaching different Sunday school classes throughout elementary and middle school. And my debut as a public speaker was in 8th grade, when I gave a 15-minute “sermon” in chapel – twice!

In high school and college, I became more active in forming communities structured around studying the Bible and connecting with God. Now I am more focused on helping people recognize and live their purpose, while still teaching the Word when given the chance. The comfort and convenience of our culture has lulled too many to sleep. I want to wake them up, train them, and send them out to live lives that really matter.
Thank you for letting me be a footnote in the epic story God is writing with your life. Connect with me on social media or subscribe to my newsletter for updates as I pursue this life of purpose.
